On 1/30/2024 a Gerogia, Vermont homeowner shot and injured a man who was trying to break into his home on Sand Hill Road after 11:30pm.
According to the Vermont State police, Gordon Richard Sr, 75, told the investigators that 3 armed men had tried to break into his home through a locked interior door from a separate section of the home where his son lives. Gordon Richard Sr told the police that he shot one of the men with a muzzleloader, shut the door they broke through and called 911.
When troopers arrived on the scene they found Paul Brown, 39, shot and injured in the neighboring yard; we was then rushed off to the hospital where he was listed as "critical condition" the following day.

Vermont State Police say that they're still investigating the incident and that no one has been arrested or faces any charges yet.
