The Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility, a correctional facility housing upto 810 total prisoners (770 Male, 40 Female), was hacked by the hacker group Play.
This group alleges that it has stolen files pertaining to both the lawyers and the prisoners' ID's, taxes, private and personal confidential data, clients' documents, agreements, budgets, financial info and more.
According to what Play left on the facility's website (not linking, incase site isn't secure), this information will be released on 11/19/2023 if their demands are not met.
Facility History (brief)
The Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility was the first privately owned Correctional Facility in the United States, having been founded in 1993.
Is located in Central Falls, Rhode Island.
It is operated by The Central Falls Detention Facility Corporation (CFDFC), a quasi-private corporation. This corporation is ran by a 5-member Board of Directors, all of whom have to be appointed by the Mayor of Central Falls.
This facility belongs to the American Correctional Association (ACA).
This facility is a Maximum-Security, high tech prison that takes in prisoners from the state of Rhode Island and the surrounding states: Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
This facility received a $47,000,000 expansion in 2006, increasing its Male capacity from 300 to 770, while adding 40 bed units for Female prisoners; while also upgrading their security systems in general.
Partnerships
Was developed for use by the United States Marshal Service (USMS), and was later to include U.S I.C.E, from 2005 to 2008; and again starting in 2019.
In October of 2011, the facility began serving the United States Navy, by housing personnel who had been placed in custody of the General Court-Martial Convening Authority (GCMC).
I.C.E withdrew its remaining 153 prisoners in December 2008, following the inquiry into Hiu Lui Ng's death. They renewed their contract with the facility back on March 19, 2019.
