Carlos Baez Jr, 28

On 12/19/2023 at 8:00 am, the Statewide Narcotics Task Force Southwest Office, Statewide Urban Violence Cooperation Crime Control Task Force, the Connecticut State Police Violent Crime Task Force, the Shelton Police Department and the D.E.A executed a search warrant at 59 Cliff Street 1st Floor, in Shelton Connecticut.

The search was based on a Narcotics investigation, during which info developed pointing to Carlos Baez Jr, 28, was distributing illegal narcotics throughout the greater Valley area.

As a result of the search, Detectives seized 580 grams of fentanyl, 0.1 grams of cocaine, narcotics packaging materials, cash, ammunition and 2017 illegal firearms; one of which had been stolen.

Baez Jr was taken into custody and charged with the following

• Sale of a Controlled Substance within 1,500 feet of a School/Housing/Day Care
• Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell (2 counts)
• Criminal Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition (3 counts)
• Violation of Deadly Weapon Registration Requirements
• Stealing a Firearm
• Operation of a Drug Factory

Carlos Baez Jr is currently on parole and has been remanded to the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections, pending his arraignment at Derby Superior Court on 12/20/2023 (yesterday)
