Finances
From 0 to Something
Though the lack of education in government schools would say otherwise, Finances and financial decisions is the bedrock of freedom and independence. A person with no finances is subject to the whims of those with the financial means to push and pull them to and froe; thus making them a slave by necessity.
While having skills that can be used to physically shape the world around you are powerful tools - much like a power tool - you'll need the financial "energy" to use those tools to their fullest measures. Governments and multi-national mega corporations know this fact, and use it to further enrich themselves with wealth and political power.
Because of this, every person who cares about being in control of themselves and their lives should strive to be as financially independent of any system who's goals run contrary to theirs; if a system hurts you purposefully, why contribute to it?
Those who can see past what the government and its media apparatus shows them can see that being in control over their own lives is becoming more and more of an existential concern. After the world-wide lockdowns in 2020, the financial ruin of so many small and medium-sized businesses, the communist-lead black riots of 2020 and the racial demonization of Whites; many have woken up and had the realization that they, for the most part, truly are on their own.
Those who were more aware of what was going on before others, had observed the foundations of the world-wide money systems crumbling beneath their feet; those that were smart had decided to pull most of their wealth from these systems and put it into things not directly controlled by such systems. But what of those who did not - or refused to - see this crumbling beneath them happening before their vary own eyes?
Unfortunately for these folks, many found themselves falling into very destitute situations. Some had it so bad that ending themselves was seen as the preferred option; unfortunately, many never returning from such a view. Others simply found themselves living in squaller, with little to nothing to call their own; often forced into relying on the very systems that drove them to such a situation of dejection and self-shame.
Privacy
From NPC to Anon
During this time of great upheaval of public trust and paranoia, governments all around had ramped up their measures for spying on their own peoples. Measures from listening in on phone-calls and text messages, using the geolocation of phones and social media to build a schedule-model of the civilians daily habits, using Facial and Gate Recognition technologies wherever there are cameras in public, and freezing custodial public-ledger cryptocurrency accounts of people donating to the Canadian Trucker protesters.
Because of this over-reaching and ham-fisted crackdown done by so many governments, many people began to take their own privacy into consideration. This serious consideration, though seemingly weird or off-putting to those who are blind to the things around them, would enable these people to see the society around them in a different light.
Many of these individuals would find themselves strictly dealing in cash and precious metals, never touching a bank-card of any kind, for their transactions. Some would even go so far as to live completely off-grid, on their own self-sustainable piece of land; raising and growing all the food they would need for themselves and their families.
Others would continue living among the society within its cities, but would change everything about their lifestyle and choices in order to skirt all the surveillance systems they find themselves encountering every day. The means of skirting these systems could be anything from wearing a prosthetic nose with a mask to trick Facial Recognition, to wearing clothing made with EMF-blocking materials; many ways would be used to skirt the ever-encompassing surveillance system in these places.
While physical privacy was of great concern to these folks, digital privacy also became a concern for them as well. They understood that they needed privacy both IRL and online; otherwise their efforts in the real world would all be for naught.
Solo Mining Monero - Crypt0_Bear
So many of these people found what works best for internet privacy: Tor, i2p, self-hosted offline servers, etc. But one of the most influential things they found was Monero.
Monero, due to its foundation being Privacy First, was an easy choice for people who are concerned about internet privacy and private internet transactions.
While the writer isn't proficient enough in programming to adequately explain just how Monero accomplishes such a difficult task; I can point you to GetMonero, the main site that could explain it better than the writer ever could.
Because of Monero's privacy, people are able to privately transact for goods and services over the internet - or even in person - without having to worry about a bank knowing how much they spent or where they spent it. In the writer's opinion, the potential for Monero has only had its surface just barely scratched.
