New Hampshire Pigs Sue Gunshop; Loses Case

Manchester, New Hampshire officers Ryan Hardy & Matthew O'Connor

In 2016, Ian MacPherson, who was a suspect for robbing a gas station, had shot 2 officers who responded to the crime scene. These 2 officers are Ryan Hardy & Matthew O'Connor, of the Manchester Police Department of New Hampshire.

After the shooting, the 2 officers decided to sue the gun shop (Chester Arms) that had sold MacPherson the gun, and the Department of Safety - which oversees the background check process - arguing that MacPherson should not have been able to buy the gun because of prior mental health issues.

Chester Arms and the State argued in court that no state, nor federal, disqualifiers came up during the backgound check. The Supreme Court agreed with a lower court's ruling on the case, and ruled that both the gun shop and the State are not liable for the incident.

"The found that it is constitutional, and essentially going forward, we know the gun industry will not be held liable in New Hampshire for third-party criminal actions", said Sean List, the attorney representing the gun shop, Chester Arms.

"I think there was room to interpret the statute differently", said Mark Morissette, the attorney for the officers. "I also think the statute is unconstitutional in the sense it takes away a person's right to a remedy".

Opinions

The state will ensure that they can strip away as many rights as you do not exercize, while at the same time suing you for being a person who can provide the means to which one of your rights can be exercized; all because that very system had failed in providing already existing safeguards to people such as Mr MacPherson.
The state, unless it is wholly committed to enabling its people to protect themselves, will always become the bully. Any state that becomes a bully to its own people not only has lost its faith and truth that the people had entusted to it, but it also loses its god-given authority to rule by reason. Such a state is not only prone to being being destroyed by outside forces, but it even more so would, deservedly, suffer destruction from the inside.
State who act in such a regard will find themselves becoming authoritarian in areas where the elite lives, while the remaining areas become nothing more than destructive anarchy and chaos. These states, ultimately, deserve the fate that befalls them.
