On October 23rd, 2023, at 11:03pm the Vermont State Police received a 911 call advising that someone was shot on Twitchell Hill Road, Shaftsbury Vermont.
When the police arrived at the location, the Troopers were able to identify a male victim who had appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound; the second victim had also sustained injuries - but was not shot - and had refused any medical service/attention.
Investigation revealed that Mohamed Hamdi, age 32, of Union New Jersey, and another male had entered the residence and forced the occupants into the basement. While in the basement, Nicholas Baker (25) and Joseph Maccioli (33) were assaulted; and Nicholas was shot when he had attempted to flee.
Mohamed Hamdi was apprehended on 1/4/2024 in Union, New Jersey by the US Marshals Service and the New Jersey State Police. He is awaiting extradiction to Vermont.
This crime is still under investigation.
